Skydio tidbits

Skydio was founded in 2014 and it beat the dominant play DJI in many features, especially, object avoidance by 2019. It is the best drone for recreational use. Its motion tracking is almost as good as the job done by a cameraman. 

However, there is still a lot of room for improvement.

As of February 2022, all crashes that I have observed happened when Skydio 2 was doing fast maneuvers. When the speed is low, Skydio 2 is excellent in obstacle avoidance. When the speed is high, it cannot avoid obstacles that it can at low speed. One way to solve the problem is to prioritize obstacle avoidance over speed.
