FreeDNS - a noble endeavor

FreeDNS is a noble endeavor to offer free Domain Name Service.  It is free, though users are encouraged to become paid premium members whose fees are used to pay for the hardware and bandwidth used by FreeDNS.  Generally speaking, it works quite well.  It is probably sufficient for non-critical personal use.  Its occasional issues may make it unsuitable for business use.  The damage of a few hours of downtime is usually more than just the loss of business traffic for a few hours, but the reputation of a business is at stake when such events happen.
