Lufthansa, an airline to avoid
On March 1, 2023, Lufthansa flight LH425 got stuck on the taxiway of Munich airport because the airplane could not make turns. The disembarking was delayed by an hour. I found that my luggage did not come with me when I arrived at Cluj-Napoca airport. I spent over an hour waiting and working with an agent handling luggage loss for Lufthansa. My original plan was to take a train at 3:35 on March 2 to head to Ukraine. Unfortunately, the luggage did not arrive until 13:00. I had to book a hotel room to stay in Cluj for one more day.
I requested Lufthansa for compensation and they refused on the grounds of lacking supporting documents despite my uploading the hotel room booking invoice. I replied to the rejection email with the invoice attached but they rejected it again.
I did a search and found I was actually lucky because many people have their luggage delayed by Lufthansa for much longer times without any compensation. One's luggage was delayed by 4 days,
