Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX50V

Reviews on DPReview.com and a review with comparison with Canon PowerShot sX280 HS and Panasonic Lumix ZS30 at CameraLabs.com. A short video shows how the Wi-Fi feature works.

One cannot peep pixels of these P&S compact cameras.  They would scare you.  For pocket size travel cameras, what are the choices other than these great super-zoom compact cameras?

It does not appear to support Sony Camera Remote API as of 2014-04-29, but the Sony's mobile app PlayMemories Mobile works well in controlling the camera remotely, PlayMemories Mobile supports only iOS, Android devices plus Sony's Windows 8 computers.

DSC-HX50V is much bulkier than Panasonic Lumix ZS20 (270 g vs. 208 g).

The processor is slow. For example, using the super auto mode (i+) to take a picture may take quite a 3 or 4 seconds to process before the next one is allowed.  The interested object may be gone by when the processing is finished.

It also has difficulty in focusing with high zoom.

Sony's community has very limited use for getting help.  One may post a question without any any response for days.
